We offer small class sizes with either one or two teachers per class.  Classes range from 30-40 minutes, ensuring maximum concentration and involvement. Classes match ability and level to ensure that each child can fulfill their own potential. With the emphasis on small classes we are able to tailor each session to meet the specific needs of your child.

Class Content

Each week the sessions will follow a similar format to make every child feel as comfortable as possible.  We teach oral French through songs, games, puppets, props and other activities which will appeal to a child’s sense of fun to help them to learn.  Our classes are very relaxed and the emphasis is on giving every child the confidence to have a go, using phrases, new words and sentences.  We provide lots of praise and use stickers/hand stamps to reward children for their efforts. We celebrate French traditions and festivities and introduce the children to celebrations such as Mardi Gras, Pancake Day, French cheese tasting and a special cultural lesson on Paris.

The classes contain lots of repetition to ensure every child becomes really familiar with the new words and phrases they are being taught.  We issue vocabulary sheets at the beginning of each new topic to reinforce what we have taught and for you to practise at home if you wish.

Maman/Bébé French Club - Sensory and Music Sessions

We offer sessions for babies aged 6 months upwards with a parent/carer, which include lots of French songs with actions, puppets and props; age appropriate games which expose the babies to the French language and a different sensory experience each week.  This might be parachute play, pom poms and ribbons, scarves, magic space blankets, pasta play and there are always lots and lots of bubbles.

Stories With Rory

Every Tuesday, 9.30-10.00am in Chalfont St Peter Church Hall and Wednesday, 11.15-11.45am in Gerrards Cross Guide Hut.  Come and join Rory the puppet for a fun-filled half hour of French stories, games and other activities.  Each week Rory will introduce a different French story, encouraging lots of audience participation with fun props and resources.  After the story, we will sing songs, play games, count in French and enjoy a different sensory experience each week, all of which will relate to the book. We will be including French translations of the best-loved children's stories, as well as some fun new books too.  Each book will be read in French and English so everyone knows what the story is about.

Stories With Rory is for children aged 2-4 years and children must be accompanied by an adult until they are 3 years and confident at being left.
