We offer small class sizes with either one or two teachers per class. They range from 30 mins – 1 hour, depending on age and ability, ensuring maximum concentration and involvement. Classes match ability and level to ensure that each child can fulfil their own potential. With the emphasis on small classes, we can tailor each session to meet the specific needs of your child.

We have three different levels of classes :-

1. Stories With Rory – babies that are sitting and all pre-schoolers

2. Little Learners – 2-5 years

3. Active Learners – 4 – 10 years

Class Content:

Each week the sessions will follow a similar format to make every child feel as comfortable as possible. We introduce different topics each half term, with different levels of French depending on the age group of the class. Our classes are very relaxed and the emphasis is encouraging every child to have a go and increase their confidence in speaking in the new language. We provide lots of praise and use stickers/hand stamps to reward children for their efforts. We celebrate French traditions and festivals and introduce events such as Mardi Gras, Pancake Day, French cheese tastings and special cultural sessions on France.

Stories With Rory Baby and Toddler classes :

Every Wednesday during term time 10.30am – 11.00am at Flying Start Tuition, 6 Broadway Court, 80-82 The Broadway, Chesham HP5 1EG

Come and join Rory our French puppet for a fun-filled 30 minute class with a French story, plenty of songs, musical instruments, games, bubbles and a different sensory activity each week. Cost £8.00 per family per class payable half termly.

Little Learners

Every Monday and Thursday during term time 3.30pm and 4.00pm at The Memorial Centre, East Common, Gerrards Cross SL9 7AD

These classes are ideal for children aged 2-6 years and offer a gentle introduction to French. We follow a different fun topic each half term, plus plenty of singing, stories, games, musical instruments, counting and greetings. Cost £9.00 per class payable termly.

Active Learners:

Every Monday and Thursday during term time 3.30pm, 4.00pm and 4.30pm at The Memorial Centre, East Common, Gerrards Cross SL9 7AD. These classes are suitable for children aged 4-10 years – different classes are organised for different ages/abilities. Your child might already do French at school and want to continue learning in a small, relaxed environment or it might be the only opportunity they have to learn another language outside of school. These classes are lots of fun with plenty of team games, songs, stories and we teach new vocabulary and grammar (age appropriate) with a different topic each half term.

Parental Support:

We recognise that to get the most out of our classes, practise is important, so we email vocabulary and song words for each half term to parents so that you can practise together at home if you wish. Children are also given a weekly ‘Take Home’ sticker with a different thing to practise each week. For our older students there are also occasional handouts and fun activity sheets.

Stories With Rory

Every Wednesday, 10.30-11.00am at Flying Start Tuition, 6 Broadway Court, 80-82 The Broadway, Chesham HP5 1E.  Come and join Rory the puppet for a fun-filled half hour of French stories, games and other activities.  Each week Rory will introduce a different French story, encouraging lots of audience participation with fun props and resources.  After the story, we will sing songs, play games, count in French and enjoy a different sensory experience each week, all of which will relate to the book. We will be including French translations of the best-loved children's stories, as well as some fun new books too.  Each book will be read in French and English so everyone knows what the story is about.
